Role Objective

The Design Lead will be responsible for managing the Design team and guiding them to derive desired outcome. The person should have a strong understanding of the target audience and creating original and fresh designs to build highly engaging branding and communications that drive higher user engagement.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Lead to lead our young and dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in designing for social media, print, UI/UX, and more, with a proven track record of leading or managing a team. This role demands a creative visionary who excels in both creating original artwork from scratch and transforming ideas into compelling designs across various media.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design Leadership:
    • Lead and manage the design team, providing mentorship, guidance, and feedback to ensure high-quality deliverables.
    • Oversee the entire design process, from conceptualization to final execution, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and project objectives.
  2. Creative Development:
    • Create original artwork, including logos, branding elements, and moodboards, from scratch.
    • Demonstrate strong creative thinking and visualization skills to develop innovative design concepts.
  3. Design Execution:
    • Transform creative ideas into visually appealing designs for static images, videos, print materials, and digital interfaces (UI/UX).
    • Ensure designs are aesthetically pleasing, functional, and aligned with the brand's identity and goals.
  4. Technical Proficiency:
    • Utilize various design tools and software to create and edit designs, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Sketch, Figma, etc.
    • Maintain a high level of proficiency in color palettes, font selection, and layout design.
  5. Research and Benchmarking:
    • Conduct thorough research and benchmarking to stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging design technologies.
    • Implement best practices and innovative techniques to enhance the design process and outcomes.
  6. Project and Team Management:
    • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project timelines.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, development, and product, to ensure cohesive and integrated design solutions.
    • Facilitate team collaboration, foster a positive work environment, and drive continuous improvement within the design team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in design (social media, print, UI/UX) with a strong portfolio showcasing original artwork and design projects.
  • Prior experience in leading or managing a design team.
  • Expertise in creative thinking, visualization, and transforming ideas into tangible designs.
  • Proficiency in design software and tools, including Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, etc.
  • Strong understanding of color theory, typography, and layout design.
  • Excellent research and benchmarking skills to stay updated with industry trends.
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in branding and identity design.
  • Familiarity with video editing and motion graphics.
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS and basic web development principles.
