As an Illustrator Manager, you will play a crucial role in guiding the artistic direction, managing projects, and ensuring the timely delivery of visually stunning illustrations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in illustration, excellent leadership skills, good experience in kids' book illustrations, and a passion for fostering a creative and collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Lead and inspire a team of illustrators, providing guidance, mentorship, and constructive feedback.
- Foster a collaborative and positive team culture that encourages creativity and innovation.
Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of illustration projects, ensuring they align with creative briefs and project goals.
- Develop and maintain project timelines, assigning tasks, and monitoring progress to ensure deadlines are met.
Artistic Direction:
- Define and communicate the artistic vision for each project, ensuring that illustrations meet the overall design and branding guidelines.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand project requirements and provide artistic solutions.
Quality Control:
- Conduct regular reviews of illustrations to ensure they meet the highest quality standards and align with the company's visual identity.
- Provide feedback and revisions to illustrators to enhance the overall quality of work.
Skill Development:
- Identify training needs and opportunities for skill development within the team.
- Facilitate workshops, training sessions, or other initiatives to enhance the team's illustration skills.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including graphic designers, marketing, and product development, to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to projects.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their vision and requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Illustration, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- Proven experience in illustration, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of styles and techniques.
- Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role within a creative team.
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite and other relevant design tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
