Airbnb’s Design team is looking for a Lead Production Designer to enhance production practices and processes across design. As a design leader they will be instrumental in refining our design systems and ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency while delivering on product vision.
The Difference You Will Make:
Airbnb is seeking a seasoned Production Designer to build, manage and deploy design asset libraries and supporting processes to support our annual product launch cycle. This role will sit at the intersection of product (design) and marketing and perform the highly specialized responsibilities of a “Launch Librarian.”
You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, contributing to the delivery of polished designs that are core to the Airbnb experience.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned Production Designer who has a deep understanding of creating detailed production libraries, redlining complex designs and refining design systems for consumer-facing products. They should excel in vision setting, clear communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Success in this role will be measured by the quality, collaboration, consistency and precision of your work.
This role is a Lead Experience Designer and operates as an individual contributor (IC), reporting to a Senior Manager of Experience Design, DLS
A Typical Day:
- Architect, publish and maintain Figma design libraries comprised of design components, reusable UI assets and marketing deliverables
- Validate and ingest new library additions/contributions from design and marketing
- Edit all published components to reflect the latest changes received from partner teams
- Develop change management workflows via Figma timestamps, branching and comms
- Operate as the primary point of contact between product design and the Marcom Screens Team
- Interface with Product and Marcom Production Designers to gain visibility into the latest product specs and launch deliverables
- Partner with Experience Designers, Engineers, and Creatives to define problems and goals, develop processes, ensure eng and design parity and craft production deliverables at the highest quality in service of Airbnb product launches
- Manage how the design team interfaces with other functions such as product management, engineering, external partners and marketing
- Supplement Figma specific change management process via consistent cross functional communication
Your Experience:
- 8+ years of relevant experience on a creative team, either in-house or agency
- Expert creative and technical problem solver with a fanatical attention to detail
- You are enthusiastic about details - a pixel perfectionist!
- Mastery of Figma including components, shared libraries and branching
- Self directed, can work autonomously and lead others to deliver on a goal
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with great attention to detail
- Strong communication and diplomacy/stakeholder management skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
- Strong ability to find clarity in ambiguous, dynamic, high-speed environments
- Strong experience in the creation of product demos, including influencing the metadata/visual content within product screens
- Strong ability make smart and audience-relevant design decisions when applying product design assets onto marketing communication surfaces
Nice to have knowledge and skills
- People management experience
- Familiarity with animation and motion graphics
- Familiarity with prototyping tools (ie Principle, Invision, Framer)
Your Location:
This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. While the position is Remote Eligible, you must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.

$174,000 - $209,000 USD
