What You’ll Do:
Sayari is seeking an experienced Product Design Leader to spearhead innovation for one of our key pillars. The ideal candidate is driven by innovation, thrives through collaboration, and is comfortable with an ambiguous challenge. They need to be able to work very quickly to align customer needs and business objectives through rapid experimentation at all levels of refinement. The ideal candidate is skilled at starting their design process and ending it with customer feedback, generating insights by partnering with user research and validating solutions through testing. Depending on the candidate, there is an option for this role to have up to two direct reports.
- Take ownership of the strategic design direction for one of our key pillars, owning the cohesive end-to-end user journey from ideation to final production.
- Innovate new solutions to complex supply chain management problems leveraging machine learning.
- Lead or participate in both generative and evaluative user research.
- Facilitate problem-solving workshops with stakeholders and customers.
- Influence the shape of the product with research and data while executing.
- Lead other cross-functional stakeholders through problem-solving workshops to help advance the ball toward the right problem to solve and the right way to solve it.
- Lead one or two other designers toward the execution of your solutions. Depending on the candidate, this can be a paired relationship (dotted line) or a direct report.
- Lead or partner with UX research to understand customer pain and unmet needs.
- Improve, evolve, and expand the design system based on your pillar's growth over time.
- Be an active mentor for other designers, interview new designers and actively advise on our design hiring process.
- Encourage trust-building and feedback culture. Provide kind and clear feedback to the team, and solicit feedback from peers, including other product designers and cross-functional partners.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience working in UX, UI, HCI related field with experience working on multi-user complex data platforms and mobile.
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication, HCI, or equivalent practical experience.
- Portfolio of UX-focused work samples.
- Proven ability to solve complex many-to-many data problems for multi-user SaaS applications.
- Proven track record of working within a product team to ship successful products to users.
- Ability to think big and understand complex feature sets, shaping design for multi-disciplinary projects with input from many stakeholders.
- Experience implementing robust design systems across a range of platforms in an iterative software development environment.
- Deep knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG) is a must; experience navigating complex legal/regulatory requirements is a plus.
- Highly proficient with design tools including the technical bridges to development environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well on a highly collaborative and cross-functional team.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
