Job Description

At LinkedIn, we trust each other to do our best work where it works best for us and our teams. This role is hybrid, meaning you can both work from home and commute to a LinkedIn office, depending on what’s best for you and when it is important for the team to be together.

Currently our team works 3 days/week in the San Francisco or Mountain View offices. This role can be based in San Francisco, Mountain View, New York or Chicago.

We are looking for a Learning Experience Designer to join the LinkedIn Talent Development team to imagine, design, and implement impactful digital learning solutions that solve key business problems and upskill our employees. Reporting to the Director of Learning Experience & Visual Design, in this role, you’ll leverage both learning theory and visual design to contribute to and lead projects that develop and drive functional and enterprise-wide digital learning offerings for LinkedIn employees at scale. You’ll be a key member of a creative and high-impact team that wakes up every day excited to deliver valuable and innovative learning experiences that solve business objectives and support our employees’ growth and development in measurable ways.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy engaging and effective multimedia learning solutions that support functional and/or enterprise learning strategies and initiatives
  • Solve business problems through learning solutions by understanding root causes, analyzing needs, and measuring results
  • Develop interactive learning experiences that enable behavior change utilizing a variety of learning modalities (e.g. self-paced eLearning, micro-learning, video scripts, gamification, job aids, worksheets, websites etc.)
  • Develop scalable practice opportunities using simulations and other innovative digital modalities
  • Design and produce all visual assets and graphics needed for learning experiences (e.g. banners, icons, infographics, logos, etc.)
  • Design with a learner-first mentality, ensuring that learner needs and outcomes are the focus of your work
  • Own projects through the training design lifecycle, from scoping, to design, prototyping, development, launch, and analyzing impact
  • Cultivate collaborative relationships and be a trusted experience design partner with instructional designers, media developers, stakeholders, and subject matter experts (SMEs) within the Talent organization and from across the business
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, while setting and communicating clear timelines, deliverables, and expectations with key cross-functional partners throughout all projects
  • Measure impact and iterate content/modality to address specific feedback, as needed

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience with Learning Design, Instructional Design, Learning & Development, or related corporate training field
  • Experience using tools such as Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Vyond, Camtasia, AI video generators, etc. Portfolio demonstrating learning experience design work is required.
  • Experience using visual design tools such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma, PowerPoint, Canva, etc. Portfolio demonstrating visual design work is required.
  • Experience with content development, copywriting, and editing to support skills-based learning objectives

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the design, build, and delivery of primarily asynchronous digital learning offerings in large, complex global organizations
  • Experience with diverse cutting-edge modalities of learning (online, interactive, eLearning, microlearning, VILT, video, gamification, animation, etc.)
  • Experience developing skills-based learning content for individual contributors, managers, and executives, in areas such as: leadership development, coaching, career development, talent development, etc.
  • Experience working with leadership and key stakeholders to build effective learning solutions
  • Experience with adult learning theory and awareness of current learning trends, theories, and frameworks
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities at once, in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for and the ability to thrive in a highly collaborative environment
  • Experience with Learning Management System (LMS) content including SCORM, assessments, reporting, etc.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen to and influence others.
  • Detail oriented self-starter with exceptional prioritization, organization, and project management skills.
  • Ability to design engaging virtual content for users across global regions, with an emphasis on accessibility, user experience, interactions, and information architecture

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $86,000 - $140,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
