Mid-Level Software Engineer (Design/Product)

Overview

A fast-growing technology startup based in NYC, currently composed of around 10 team members, is looking to hire three Software Engineers with a focus on design and product. This role will involve developing innovative tech solutions for sales, providing a vibrant atmosphere for creative problem-solving. Following a recent $2 million investment, the company is set to expand further, making this an ideal opportunity for engineers eager to contribute to a dynamic and evolving team.

Technologies Used

Key Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience with React, React Native for Web, Node.js, Express, and MongoDB.
• Proven track record working in early-stage startup environments.
• Passionate about learning API-first companies and how best to present their products (experience with API companies is a major plus).
• Hands-on approach, willing to take ownership and build something you can take pride in.
• Proficient in module bundlers like Webpack, Babel, and troubleshooting configurations.
• Experience with tools like Retool, Webflow, Figma, etc.
• Strong design skills, with a solid grasp of layout, typography, and color theory, to bring expertise in graphic design.
• Comprehensive understanding of modern web technologies, including HTML/CSS/JavaScript, databases, APIs, and API authentication.
• Must be enthusiastic about working onsite with the team in NYC.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and implement UI/UX for onboarding and API integrations.
• Collaborate with the founders on roadmap development and prioritization.
• Build and maintain the full stack of the platform.
• Focus on improving the overall user experience.

Interview Process

The recruitment process consists of four stages, with the potential to complete it within two weeks.
