As a Senior Product Designer on the Spend Controls team, you will play a critical role in shaping the user experience for products managing a $15 billion customer payment volume within our BILL Spend and Expense platform. Your primary focus will be helping significantly lower the percentage of declined transactions while delivering an unforgettable software experience that:

  • Helps customers set up and manage their funds with a high degree of trust that funds are being used appropriately
  • Helps customers set up and communicate their spend policies and other spend controls
  • Helps people understand how they can spend money
  • Getting spend approved by the right people and at the right time

Key Responsibilities

  • Handles design challenges and explores innovative solutions. Manages design projects that have a significant impact on product areas.
  • Exhibits a deep understanding of user personas and their pain points. Challenges and influences the team’s understanding of the problems.
  • Develops a strategic perspective on how design aligns with and supports business strategies/metrics.
  • Delivers simple, elegant designs that exhibit a higher level of sophistication. Balances aesthetics with usability to create designs that delight users and create business value.
  • Takes a leadership role in design discussions with cross-functional teams. Adapts messaging to different levels of the organization, from individual contributors to mid-level managers. Provides in-depth explanations of design choices, connecting them to user needs and business goals.

Requirements

Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Collaborates across departments, fostering cross-functional collaboration as co-lead with Product Management and Engineering Management. Demonstrates effective communication within and outside the immediate team.
  • Plays a role in defining design strategies that align with the team’s objectives. Provides input into the team’s roadmap based on design insights. Partners with Product Marketing Managers to influence go-to-market strategy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Interaction Design, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in product design, with a proven track record of leading design projects from concept to launch. Previous experience in FinTech or a related industry is a plus.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.

Salary Range

The estimated base salary range for this role in Draper, UT is between $112,500 - $135,200 USD.
