UX Designer for AR and Spatial Applications
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented UX Designer to design the user experience for an augmented reality iOS application in tandem with a complementary desktop web application. This app allows users to scan their home, generate 3D models, and collaborate with designers or independently refine their spaces through the desktop platform. Your work will focus on creating a seamless, intuitive experience across these platforms, ensuring users can transition effortlessly between mobile and desktop environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Cross-Platform Experiences: Develop user flows, wireframes, and prototypes for both the iOS application and the desktop web interface, ensuring a cohesive user experience across devices.
- Focus on AR Interaction: Design intuitive workflows for AR scanning, 3D model generation, and user interaction with spatial data within the iOS app.
- Collaborate with Developers & Product Teams: Work closely with mobile and web developers to ensure designs align with technical constraints and deliver a consistent cross-platform experience.
- User Research & Testing: Conduct usability studies on both iOS and desktop platforms to identify pain points and refine designs.
- Bridge AR and Web Workflows: Optimize the transition between mobile AR scanning and desktop design collaboration, creating a unified experience that supports real-time updates and edits.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a UX Designer, with a portfolio demonstrating mobile and web design expertise.
- Strong understanding of user interaction principles, with a strong emphasis on iOS Human Interface Guidelines.
- Proficiency in Figma and building out Design Systems within Figma.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work across multidisciplinary teams.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with AR or 3D visualization projects.
- Knowledge of ARKit, RealityKit, or similar frameworks.
- Background in spatial design tools or applications (e.g. Spline and Blender).
