2D Character Artist Role at Wooga

As a 2D Character Artist at Wooga you will work closely with designers, engineers, product managers, producers, writers and other artists to create visually stunning, game characters for Wooga’s hit game - June's Journey!

Responsibilities:

• Ensure high-quality, photorealistic character designs with accurate anatomy and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with writing and peers from character team to create a compelling cast for new storylines of June’s Journey, capturing personality, history and emotion.
• Create convincing characters poses and expressions and set them up in animation ready files.
• Create illustrations of compelling story moments with the games characters.
• Maintain consistency with the established art style, whilst infusing creativity and freshness within the realm of the style.
• Collaborating with team in maintaining and updating documentation.

Requirements:

• Strong portfolio of realistic character designs with accurate anatomy and a great sense of costume design.
• Understanding of scale, proportion, human anatomy, surface properties, and detail distribution.
• Excellent rendering and design skills with an ability to adapt to established styles.
• Apply color theory to evoke mood/character appeal.
• Proficient in digital illustration skills with an advanced understanding of Photoshop.
• Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Provide and welcome constructive feedback for team improvement.
