Program Highlights
Residency Benefits
- Artistic Practice: Access to shared studio space and materials to develop and create your own work.
- Community Engagement: Serve as an instructor for Pottery workshops, Retreat or course, sharing your expertise with pottery enthusiasts.
- Financial Support: Monthly stipend of ₹25,000–₹45,000 and a 50% commission on the sale of artworks created during the residency, which will be sold through the studio shop or gallery.

Studio Facilities
- Fully equipped with pottery wheels, slab rollers, and electric and gas kilns (up to 1200°C).
- Stoneware and terracotta clay available.
- Glaze Materials.
- Artists are requested to use the materials judiciously.
Eligibility
- Experience: 1–5 years of professional ceramic practice, including hand-building, wheel throwing, glazing, and firing.
- Teaching: Prior experience in teaching and assisting pottery workshops.
- Skills: Strong communication abilities and a positive attitude for teamwork.
- Vision: A clear and well-defined plan for the artistic work to be completed during the residency.
Role Responsibilities
- Teach or assist in studio-hosted workshops, retreat or in the course primarily focused on hand-building, wheel throwing, and glazing techniques.
- Dedicate 30 hours per week to instruction and studio engagement.

- A clear explanation of your artistic vision.
Selection Process
- Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for a video interview. Evaluation will focus on:
- Artistic vision and clarity of proposals.
- Technical expertise in ceramics.
- Pricing strategy for proposed work.
- Communication skills and prior teaching experience.

Dharamkot Studio invites ceramic artists to apply for a unique opportunity to combine an artist residency with a teaching role. This residency is a space for ceramic artists to expand their personal practice, gain teaching experience, and learn how to sustain a working artist’s lifestyle. As part of the program, resident artists enrich our community by sharing their refined skills through workshops and engaging in creating projects.
