Wavemaker Studio - Designer

About the role:

At Wavemaker, we believe that producing unrivalled work is down to the people that lead them and the environment that they create. Our Studio of production delivery specialists take the time and effort to build strong relationships and vibrant cultures with internal and external stakeholders and partners and create and make with a unique combination of creative, innovation and production skills united by an entrepreneurial mindset. It is our shared mission to turn ideas into reality.

You will be an ambitious graphic designer – creating engaging marketing & creative content on behalf of some of the UK’s most famous brands. You will be currently working with a brand, media owner or agency and ready for a career-defining next step. The creation and delivery of engaging visual content is your primary focus.

Reporting to the Studio Production Lead with a dotted line to the ECD at Wavemaker UK, the Studio Designer plays a key role in creating content across the organization. You should be passionate about creating with content, technology, and media to actively integrate brands into everyday life.

In this role, you will:

  • Be currently working with a brand, media owner, agency, or production house and be ready for a career-defining next step.
  • Be responsible for creating high-quality design artworks for print, digital, and social platforms - delivering visually engaging work for both clients and internal teams (marketing, comms, content).
  • Brainstorm with the conceptual team on the best design approach for their ideas in order to communicate the campaign message visually.
  • Create and suggest different styles and design options for each campaign.
  • Develop a design-based campaign out of a written brief.
  • Support the ideation of content by either assisting colleagues in bringing their ideas to life, advising on production, or creating original ideas in response to the brief.
  • Be able to evaluate a client’s current assets and provide a response that shows how those assets could be effectively used on digital or print platforms.
  • Work within Studio’s production workflow to create visual design content - this could include image sourcing with light manipulation and color corrections, creation of charts, infographics, and data visualizations for presentations, campaign work for clients (origination or adaptation) for social media platforms, out of home, web, and print.
  • Ensure that each campaign is delivered in line with the project timeline to the satisfaction of all project stakeholders.
  • Ensure all design work is delivered on time, within tight deadlines, on budget and to Studio’s benchmark of effectiveness – beautifully crafted and creatively executed to stand out on platform.
  • Pitch, plan, and collaborate where necessary.
  • Research imagery, and relevant stock to support creative treatments and assets.
  • Work flexibly and reactively to our Studio workflow.
  • Have your finger on the pulse of the latest trends and developments in design and content across social platforms and technology/devices.
