The Role: UX Designer Internship

​

As a UX Designer Intern at SurplusMap, you will play a central role in working with our senior team to define the scope and direction of our platform. Your goal is to deliver the best user experience to make our product successful. You will be at the heart of a dynamic organization where your ideas and execution are equally valued. UI/UX will be central to your role, involving conducting and leading research efforts, translating insights into product ideas, and testing hypotheses with wireframes and user flows in collaboration with our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with the senior team to shape the direction of our platform.
• Conduct and lead UX research efforts.
• Translate research insights into product ideas and concepts.
• Test hypotheses with wireframes and user flows.
• Create user flows, wireframes, information architecture, and interface mockups.
• Collaborate within cross-functional agile teams.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Fluent in UX research methods and turning findings into prototypes.
• Empathetic with strong storytelling skills. Enjoy talking to and listening to customers, running workshops, and presenting findings.
• Systematic UX/UI design work with consistent processes and methods.
• Ability to support interaction design tasks such as creating user flows, wireframes, information architecture, and interface mockups.

Bonus:

• Interest in working with GIS, maps, urbanization, sustainability and electric mobility is a big plus.
