Job Title: Junior / Middleweight Graphic Designer - Packaging & Print Design

Location: Glasgow, Scotland

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

In person / Hybrid working considered

No weekends

Salary:

About the Role:

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Graphic Designer / Artworker / Illustrator to join our design team. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative individual who thrives in dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for producing high-quality print-ready packaging designs for our range of toys, games, gadgets. You will collaborate closely with our team of designers and report to the Head of Design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality design concepts including illustrations while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Manage your own workload, ensuring projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Interpret and implement feedback from various stakeholders to refine designs.
  • Liaise with clients and external contractors, including printers, to ensure designs are print-ready and meet all the relevant recycling and safety warning standards.
  • Maintain strong file management and organisation throughout the design process.
  • Use project management and communication tools like GoodDay, Teams and emails to keep track of project progress.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Ideally 1-2 years of experience in creating technical packaging artwork.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign other apps would be a bonus.
  • Strong knowledge of print and colour management.
  • Experience in creating die-line templates and mock-ups.
  • Excellent understanding of typography
  • Experience working with brand guidelines and design briefs.
  • Strong creative and artistic skills with a keen eye for detail and design aesthetics.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A positive, enthusiastic attitude with a good sense of humour.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent understanding of colour theory, typography, and layout design.

Additional Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with design critiques and ability to give and receive feedback.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and Internal departments.
