What you'll be doing:

Volunteer Experience (VX) Team 

The vision of the VX team is to provide an impactful volunteer experience that fosters belonging, community, wellness, and loyalty.

Role:

As a Learning Designer, you will create learning experiences that are engaging, informative, and memorable. Your day-to-day requires designing and evaluating elements of our core training as well as designing continuing education opportunities for volunteers. You will use instructional design methodologies and tools that empower learners to feel confident taking conversations on our platform while creating a memorable user experience. Your ability to be agile, learn and use new tools, design curriculum, and evaluate learning outcomes is critical for delivering our service.

Responsibilities:

Crisis Text Line is a fast-moving, growing organization with a big vision and a critical mission. To serve our mission and vision, each role must be agile and flexible to meet the needs of the business, aligning their work with priorities as defined by their manager and team leaders.

  • Cross Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts across the organization to create content for the training materials
  • For any given project, determine the best channel to communicate updates with necessary parties (ie: slack channel, standing meetings)
  • Design and share the Instructional Design workflow to ensure there is clarity on how each project will move forward

  • Stakeholder Management
  • Create and manage a process for design requests
  • Communicate with empathy and respect to maintain positive working relationships

  • Build Scalable Learning Experiences
  • Design creative remote learning experiences and materials in multiple modalities, including: interactive eLearning modules, videos, infographics, and reference materials based on learning objectives.
  • Co-create the structure of the Continuing Education environment for Volunteers
  • Team up with product, data, and engineering teams to define and develop the integrations and functions needed to deliver innovative learning activities.
  • Partner with Learning Content Writer, and other SME’s to develop assessments to measure learners’ knowledge and skill retention and participate in the ongoing evaluation of learning materials and delivery methods.

  • ELearning evaluation
  • As you build learning modules- perform evaluations to measure knowledge and skill retention and make changes to assessments as needed
  • Monitor and report out changes in metrics as more data becomes available to you

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience as an Instructional Designer
  • Advanced knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design concepts
  • Advanced experience using e-learning authoring tools and learning management systems- Moodle, Articulate 360, Camtasia, Typeform, Canva
  • Intermediate experience storyboard drafting
  • Intermediate understanding of accessibility standards
  • Intermediate knowledge of video editing and copyediting
  • Intermediate proficiency in Spanish (written and spoken) is preferred but not required

Reliable High-Speed Internet Required:

Must have a stable high-speed internet connection to support seamless remote collaboration, virtual meetings, online job tasks, etc.

The full salary range for this position, across all United States geographies, is $66,000-$89,250 per year.

The upper portion of the salary range is typically reserved for existing employees who demonstrate strong performance over time. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience; during the interview process, candidates will learn the starting salary range applicable for their location. We pay competitively in the tech-forward nonprofit space and offer a robust benefits package.
