Do you thrive in environments where you can raise the bar for quality, drive collaboration, and mentor others to reach their full potential? Have you designed products to enable great SaaS or enterprise retail experiences?

What you’ll be doing

  • Connect and lead teams in executing solutions end-to-end.
  • Apply strategic thinking not just in execution, but to shape how teams approach new problems.

  • Make and communicate comprehensive design strategies based on quantitative and qualitative data and work in partnership with product managers to lead the problem definition.
  • Facilitates journey mapping and introduces design thinking methods to influence cross-functional teams and advocate for the user.

Embedding Systems Thinking

  • Develop a masterful understanding of design system principles within your team.
  • Lead a team in defining existing system libraries and evolving components for user and industry relevancy.
  • Create prototypes or support the team to do so.

Coaching and Management

  • Oversee the completion of projects, establish processes to improve efficiency, nurture key relationships within the company, and provide mentorship to your team.
  • Supervises contributors on projects, manages the workload and backlog across the team.
  • Ensure that each designer in your team has a plan to grow and meet their potential and support them in the challenges they face.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of industry experience in a people management role on a Design team, experience in matrix organizations a plus.
  • Foundational design-related education (Bachelor of Design, or Visual Arts, or Architecture, or Industrial Design, or Communication)
  • An acute self-awareness and deep empathy - for both the customer and your team’s goals.
  • A tenured, evolutionary perspective on technology, product, and design practices
  • Applied experience with service design practices and a practice of constantly evolving your design process.
  • An appetite (and the skill) for working across all digital and physical manifestations of what we design.
  • A passion for mentoring executives, product managers, and engineers to deliver user-centered solutions.
