Job Description

​

• Responsible for seeing images through to final release. Must be able to advise current status of jobs supervisor on an ongoing basis. Responsible for maintaining timing and skill constraints of retouching
• Understanding of colour as it relates to hard and soft proofing and image composition
• Should be able to discuss colour issues effectively with both creative and non-creative individuals involved in a project
• Must maintain job fluidity so as to be able to respond in an effective manner when unforeseen timing/budget constraints develop, which require an immediate response
• Must be able to refocus and demonstrate creative flexibility
• Technical responsibilities include helping to maintain colour fidelity throughout the studio environment as it relates to contract proofs
• Must be able to calibrate monitors and/or understand contract proofing calibration devices and uses (i.e. spectrophotometer) for proofing quality consistency. Responsible for color proof OK's of prints as it relates to quality assurance

Experience and Qualifications

• 6-9 years experience in an Ad agency/ print production with a design qualification
• A driven, dynamic and trustworthy individual who can manage his/her time effectively across multiple jobs, while meeting agency demands
• Must have extensive hands-on experience working in all related areas with working knowledge of all relevant applications
• Attention to detail, as these professionals, must be able to notice and correct even the most innocuous detail
• A keen eye for art and composition that allows them to relate to what's generally perceived as being desirable in an image
• An understanding of the components of visual art and the elements of photography
• Photography skills are a plus.
• A strong understanding of colour correction
• Proven ability to meet tight deadlines
• An ability to work closely with photographers, designers and art directors and exchange ideas and opinions while keeping a level head
