Job Summary

We are seeking a talented Senior Conversion Designer to join our team and play a key role in developing and optimizing digital strategies across our web and digital channels. In this role, you will collaborate with cross- functional teams to design user-centered experiences that achieve specific business outcomes.

Department Specific Responsibilities

  • Designs low and high-fidelity wireframes, prototypes, and final designs using Figma to support digital strategies across web, email, and other digital channels.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams (content strategy, marketing, technical, CX, CRM, and web strategy teams) and business leaders to develop design solutions that drive specific business outcomes.
  • Assists the technical team in developing and refining templates for web and email to maximize conversions and enhance user experience.
  • Provides page-level recommendations for layout optimizations using existing templates.
  • Conducts data analysis to measure the effectiveness of designs, iterate based on insights, and apply best practices for continuous optimization.
  • Maintains a deep understanding of user experience principles, usability standards, and web accessibility guidelines to ensure all designs are user-centered and inclusive.
  • Utilizes tools like Helio for testing and optimization purposes, incorporating findings to refine and improve designs.

General Responsibilities

  • Plans, analyzes, and develops marketing and creative strategies to promote Indiana University through digital channels and increase exposure to a target audience.
  • Reviews and analyzes usage trends and effectiveness of digital marketing strategies, determine and implement changes as necessary.
  • Consults with staff, faculty, colleagues, departments, and/or other stakeholders to determine high-level strategies for specific programs, goals, audiences, and objectives.

Qualifications

  • EDUCATION
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in English, communications, journalism, public relations, or related field
  • Preferred: Master's degree in related field
  • WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Required: 3 years in relevant field
  • SKILLS
  • Required:

  • Preferred:
    • Proficiency in Figma for wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity design.
    • Strong understanding of user experience (UX) and conversion rate optimization (CRO) principles
    • Comfortable iterating on designs based research, user, and stakeholder feedback/requirements
    • Experience collaborating across multiple teams to achieve design objectives
    • Ability to analyze data to evaluate design effectiveness and make data-driven improvements
    • Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and best practices for inclusive design
    • Experience with Cascade Server (Hannon Hill) or similar content management systems
  • Familiarity with the Rivet Design System and its application in digital design
  • Familiarity with web technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and their impact on design
  • Experience with Siteimprove
  • Experience with Helio or similar tools for user testing and design validation

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Work Location: Bloomington, Indiana or Indianapolis, Indiana

This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, subject to change based on university policy and business needs.
