We are currently searching for a passionate designer to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with industry leaders, innovative companies, and forward-thinking organizations to design and produce impactful branding, publications, websites, and corporate communications solutions and all marketing communication materials (including PowerPoint) in various media.  

This is a fully remote position.

Founded in 1983 and based in San Diego, Mentus is a creative agency focused on business-to-business (B2B), corporate, and investor communications. We deliver award-winning communication design for annual reports, CSR and ESG reports, brand identities, environmental graphics, and websites. Mentus’ mission is to deliver client work that cuts through—by clearly communicating a brand’s vision through iconic design and visual storytelling. We are the longest consecutively-running creative and corporate reporting agency in San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with clients to understand their unique goals and objectives and tailor designs accordingly.
• Develop and express complex messages clearly and concisely.
• Work closely with account managers and clients.
• Assist with project management to ensure clear client communication, accurate deliverables, and timely responses.
• Ability to work independently and as a team managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with rapidly changing priorities.
• Expertise in producing print ready and digital files.
• Expertise in preparing files for web developers.
• Clear communication skills both written and verbal (e.g. daily Zoom meetings, Basecamp project management communication, tracking hours, etc.)
• Maintain file backups by archiving each project as it’s completed.

Candidate must be an expert in:

• Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat
• Figma
• Google Suite
• Microsoft Office Suite

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Graphic Design
• 5+ years of professional experience within a studio, agency or marketing environment
• Experience leading branding, publication, and web design projects
• Strong ability to present and explain ideas to clients
• Aptitude to receive, interpret and implement creative direction
• Exceptional sense of typography, publication design, and strong conceptual skills
• Flexibility – schedules change and clients can be demanding
• Experience taking a project from concept to final print ready or digital files
• Time-management skills to handle multiple projects at the same time
• Exemplary proofing skills
• Detail-oriented mindset, with strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, thriving and friendly environment.
