Team Overview:

In the International Markets product development team based in Dreilinden, Berlin our mission is to improve the experience for international buyers and sellers and make eBay a truly global shopping destination.

We are an inclusive team made up of 19 nationalities, and how we do things as a team are just as important as what we do. As part of the global Core Product team, we focus on local and international market needs, and collaborate to solve high impact customer experiences across the business. Overall, we are on a mission to improve eBay customer experience, technology and drive agile adoption.

Team Role:

As a key member of the Berlin team, your innovative design solutions will help to make eBay more accessible and enjoyable for our diverse audience in 178 countries. You will be a bridge between teams in DE and the USA, working to define beautiful, cohesive experiences which are connected to the core eBay brand and global design team. You will collaborate very closely with the Berlin product & engineering team to strategize, define and grow the way eBay is experienced within localization & loyalty. You will also work and grow as part of our diverse international design community as well as working as part of a great cross-functional design team in Berlin.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and prototyping cross-platform experiences that are easy to use, beautiful, and delight eBay customers.
  • Developing sketches, wireframes, user flows, mockups, and animations at appropriate fidelities to clearly communicate designs to leaders and cross functional teams.
  • Exploring a wide variety of design concepts to find the best solutions, balancing the business objectives with the customers’ needs.
  • Collaborating daily with other designers and UX teammates to contribute to a thriving Design culture.
  • Partnering closely with engineers and product managers throughout the design and development process.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in product design, UX, or Interaction Design.
  • Knowledge of visual design, interaction design, and prototyping.
  • Experience shipping consumer products.
  • Experience using existing frameworks to solve problems, and extending and evolving those frameworks.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience designing for ecommerce environments and / or strategic growth workstreams.
  • Experience designing for multi-country & localization.
  • Experience leading design thinking and decision-making workshops
  • Ability to synthesize complex topics into simplified narratives and communicate to leadership.
