Senior Product Designer
Job Description
Lower, LLC - a Columbus, Ohio based National Mortgage Lender is looking for a Sr. Product Designer. The Sr. Product Designer will contribute to the digital mortgage roadmap, working with Product & Engineering to develop front-end, borrower facing experiences focused on turning users with fledgling, initial interest into a satisfied borrower excited to accept an offer that they love.
What you'll do:
- Design clear, user-centric experiences that break down complex mortgage-related concepts into intuitive, digestible tasks, guiding users through their mortgage journey with clarity and confidence.
- Lead and participate in design sprints, rapidly ideating, prototyping, and testing solutions that drive innovation while balancing the long-term vision with delivering minimum viable products.
- Creating product specifications that detail the functionality and design of features, ensuring alignment with business goals, user needs, and technical constraints.
- Produce wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs across multiple resolution formats, ensuring consistency and excellence throughout the user journey, from concept to final implementation.
- Utilize user research and data analytics to identify user experience gaps, delivering thoughtful, data-driven design solutions to enhance engagement, create moments of delight, and resolve friction points.
- Managing and evolving the component library, ensuring design consistency, accessibility, and scalability across different features and platforms while collaborating with development teams for smooth implementation.
- Collaborating with Product and UX teams to align designs with user needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility, fostering a cohesive approach to product development.
Who you are:
- 3+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing design systems, user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes.
- Proven expertise in UX/UI design, with a deep understanding of user-centered design principles and how to create intuitive and delightful user experiences.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and marketing, to translate complex product requirements into elegant and scalable designs.
- Strong understanding of user research methodologies, including conducting user interviews, usability testing, and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data to inform design decisions.
- Ability to lead design projects end-to-end, from concept through execution, managing multiple priorities, and delivering within deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, able to articulate design rationale and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Nice to have: Experience designing for fintech or financial services products, with an understanding of compliance and regulatory constraints.
