Job Description

This role will be based in Mountain View, CA.

We’re looking for a highly skilled and creative Senior Communication Designer to join our dynamic Communication Design Team. On the Communication Design Team, we partner with the LinkedIn Executive Team and cross-functional team members to craft compelling, narrative-driven presentations that have a significant impact at scale. Using innovative and strategic methods, we enhance stories and experiences to effectively communicate with targeted audiences, both internally and externally at LinkedIn.

Responsibilities

  • Crafts pixel perfect narrative driven presentations for large offsite events, virtual/in-person all hands, and other related design assets.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate directly with SVPs, Chiefs of Staffs, cross-functional teams, including marketing, communications, and product teams, to understand their design needs and deliver effective design solutions.
  • Strong understanding of how to translate business and communication objectives, and goals to use them as a guide through projects while considering the impact design decisions have across and entire project or event.
  • Translate complex concepts and systems into visually appealing and easy-to-understand graphics, presentations, and other design assets.
  • Delivers projects of medium to large-scale complexity independently or with some support of Senior ICs or Manager.
  • Strong understanding of how to follow branded guidelines, layout, design principles, color theory, hierarchy, and typography.
  • Strong understanding storytelling principles and can build a visual narrative.
  • Delivers unique solves to complex problems through motion and cinematic storytelling conceptualizes complex content into simple visual structures.
  • Revises projects as necessary based on collaborative feedback and contributes consecutively to design reviews.
  • Delivers design solutions for unstructured problems that have many dependencies and cross-functional areas.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in graphic design, with a focus on presentation design
  • 2+ years partnering, collaborating, and communicating directly with C-Level Executives while being able to advocate for your design point of view and best practices.
  • 2+ years’ experience in industry standard tools such as PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Open to working outside typical 9-5 work hours depending on project deadlines.
  • Availability to travel to attend events as needed approx. 1 per quarter (various locations)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engaging and impactful online portfolio showcasing exceptional design skills and expertise in presentation design.
  • Expertise in industry standard tools such as PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Experience working with brand guidelines and maintaining visual consistency across various designs.
  • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for visual aesthetics and accuracy
  • Experience with broadcast production technology
  • Motion graphics experience
  • Experience using collaboration tools such as Teams, Slack, and Airtable
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.  

The pay range for this role is $123,000 to $201,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
