About the Role
As a Retail Stylist at our NYC Flagship store, you will be responsible for creating a personalized experience for each customer who enters the showroom, regardless of whether they have made an appointment or walked in. You will give dedicated attention to customers with appointments, from reaching out to the customer when they’ve booked their appointment, curating a selection of styles and accessories, and creating a highly personalized experience that leaves the customer with a complete look for their upcoming event. This role will have a direct impact on the experience of our customers and the success of the store.
This role is a temp-to-perm opportunity that is based out of our NYC Flagship Store. We anticipate stylists will work an estimated 35 per week on average, and candidates must be available to work on weekends.
What You’ll Do
- Assist customers in finding styles that meet their individual style and events needs, along with providing fit tips and styling tricks
- Deliver the “Cinderella Experience,” ensuring every customer receives a personalized and memorable experience that in turn builds brand loyalty
- Serve as a proud brand ambassador of Rent the Runway, constantly championing our core values to drive brand awareness and customer acquisition
- Maintain knowledge of all Rent the Runway products including fit, styles and inventory
- Deliver personalized service while driving a higher conversion and average order value
- Provide fitting room assistance including helping customers try other sizes and making recommendations on sizes and alternate styles
- Share customer feedback and information with other team members and leaders in order to continuously improve and evolve the customer experience
- Pre-appointment outreach, connecting with the customer to ensure we have a selection that is curated for her body type and style preferences
- Contribute to the look and feel of the store, including merchandising inventory and tidying/re-hanging garments
About You
- You have at least 2 years of experience working in a retail environment. Styling experience preferred
- You are customer obsessed and committed to providing a Cinderella Experience during each customer interaction
- You are a problem solver. You are able to think quickly and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
- You are reliable and flexible. You may need to work varied hours to meet the needs of the business
- You have technical aptitude and demonstrate computer proficiency (G Suite, Google Chrome Browser, Slack, Zoom, etc)
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs
The anticipated hourly pay for this position is $21-23 per hour. The actual compensation offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held.
